Homemade Personal Pizzas - Cheap Family Fun!

A month or so ago (so I’m BEHIND!) we decided to make homemade pizzas. We bought the already made personal size crusts for the kids, and a healthy thin crust pizza for the parents. We let the kids decide what type of ingredients they should put on their pizzas (we were concerned, but it turned out better than we thought!)

Here are the children eagerly awaiting the pizza-making frenzy!

First we brushed olive oil on the crusts.

Then we gave them a scoop of pizza sauce and a spoon for spreading.

(My oldest wanted to use sour cream for her pizza sauce, mmmmm.)

Then we slowly gave them toppings to spread round on their pizzas. Cheese, baked potato,

cheese,

bacon bits,
ham, pepperoni, more cheese,
and even more sour cream.

. . . and, uhh, more cheese.
Oh – and the boring adult pizza got a lot of healthy yummy things like tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, chicken, and light cheese. (It was NOT boring, it was YUMMMMY.)

Then we baked them and wasted no time in gobbling them up.

There were smiles all around – but we were too busy eating to take a picture of the enjoyment of pizzas made by our own hands.

This is a great activity to do with your family that doesn’t cost a lot of money.

The kids can’t wait to do this again!!

Spring has sprung again!

I can feel it in the air. I even have a SPRING in my step. I love the Christmas season, and I even love snow - but about mid-February, I am ready for the sun, for flowers, for the smell of the air at this time of year. (I admit it, this picture is from LAST spring, but this post needed some FLOWERS!!!)

I sometimes wonder if I have Seasonal Affective Disorder, because I get kind of down on things in the winter time. And, in case you didn't notice . . . I don't blog as much!!!

So - I am trying to make some changes. I am organizing a bunch of things at work, and figured I need to organize some things in my life as well!

Even though I LOOOOOVE sleep - I'm going to try and get up an hour earlier each day and not go to bed as late as I usually do. (We'll see how well this goes, by body is whining for a nap right now.)

And I will try my best - to take some time each day and write . . . :-)

Thank you Lord for the seasons and the feeling of renewal that comes with Spring!!

60 Years of Laughter

Today my Dad is 60. As I've posted on this blog, he has had some health issues the past few years (which are under control now, thank goodness). So when we had his birthday party yesterday - we didn't do an "over the hill" party - we did a celebration of his life. Honestly, I don't know what I would do without him.

I asked several people to share some memories about Dad - and every story was filled with fun and laughter. That is one of the biggest things I've learned from Dad. A sense of humor can help you overcome just about anything.

So on this day, Daddy - I want to say thanks for being who you are, for being a hard worker, for never giving up, for loving your family, and for keeping us laughing.

No matter what happens in your next 60 years (yes, I want you to live that long!), I hope you know how much you are loved.

HAPPY 60th!!
